It is a simple control scheme, but the thinking behind it gets tricky fast.

You will have to watch a few things at once. Every ship has its own speed and its own unloading time, and the game gives you clear visual hints about what each one needs. A fast-moving yacht might be easy to steer, but a massive oil tanker takes forever to turn and stop.

You have to plan the route not just for where the ship is going, but also for how long it will sit at the dock once it arrives. If you send a slow ship to a busy berth, you could back everything up.
